About Us
From Medellin to Mental Health
A Journey of Compassionate Healing
I was born and raised in Medellin, Colombia and I moved to the United States in my late teens. I have always loved medicine, so I became a critical care and trauma medicine nurse. I was always eager to keep learning and serving others in different capacities, so I returned to school and became a nurse practitioner. I eventually earned a doctorate in psychiatry and mental health.
I have always been inquisitive about the people around me. I have been a nurse for almost two decades and an NP for about 10 of those 20 years, working at the hospital. I saw the true nature of happiness, suffering, and the in-between. I was always interested in knowing what makes anyone tick, what is the one thing you can miss the most, and what you can live without. I saw so many people living with sadness and anxiety, just trying to dress in the day-to-day, unable to get outside. So, I decided to investigate and see what could make a little difference in getting into the intricacies of the mind.
