From Medellin to Mental Health
Vivian C Thomas
A Journey of Compassionate Healing
I was born and raised in Medellin, Colombia and I moved to the United States in my late teens. I have always loved medicine, so I became a critical care and trauma medicine nurse. I was always eager to keep learning and serving others in different capacities, so I returned to school and became a nurse practitioner. I eventually earned a Doctorate in Psychiatry and Mental Health.
Always driven by a deep interest in reaching out and participating in change activities, I have been an active volunteer of several organizations, including the La Caridad Center and Operation Smile, and even founded my own organization, Sharing Hearts Foundation, to help children in my country Colombia to have access to education.
